Healthy Communities, Quality Healthcare

Our vision is one of a healthy population within the communities we are accountable for, who have access to quality healthcare when they need it. To achieve our vision ADHB has three key goals that guide all the decisions we make and the actions we take.

Our goals are to

• Lift the health of people in Auckland City
• Lead performance improvement
• Live within our means

Each year we make significant and consistent progress against our organisational goals. Perhaps most significant is that we are ‘living within our means’, reporting a better than break-even result while producing more health outputs, an increase in productivity, improvements in efficiency and better management of our waiting lists.

These achievements allow us a degree of freedom to concentrate on new objectives that will continue our drive to improve health status and reduce inequalities with the population we serve.

At ADHB we are committed to utilising resources in the most effective way as we strive for improved health outcomes.  We have a 'whole system' approach which sees our focus on the community with education and prevention to help protect our population in healthy lifestyles, to managing people in the community with chronic conditions through to very specialised hospital care.  This provides a rewarding environment to staff complimented by extensive research and learning opportunities that are supported and encouraged by the organisation.

Our organisation is made up of over 10,000 staff - We attribute our success to each and every one of them.
